Maybe our blog titles recently are showing our age? First we had Only Fools and Horses references and now this! Maybe its a weird David Jason thing or lockdown is getting to us?
Anyway, after the success our our bluebell feature and virtual mass Dawn chorus walk, we have been flooded with messages from those isolating indoors, who want us to share more of the outdoors with them.
May is when hedgerows begin to explode into life with wildflowers and those familiar smells of hawthorn in the evenings. We thought we would try to capture this throughout the month so have asked our groups to send us their images as the month unfolds. The picture below will certainly stir your senses …go on, take an imaginary sniff of this wild garlic
That should keep the vampires away!
Meanwhile in this amazing May scene sent in By NW Watford really caught our eye. How blue is that sky?
The scene below was also in that area of Hertfordshire and just invites you to take a stroll
How about a lovely Orchid aptly Purple of course – this one was captured by the HQ team
In Milton Keynes they snapped an amazing field of poppies and a stunning close up of blossom
This final montage of images is very fitting as Instructor Helen Hartley pointed out that HE Bates came from her neck of the woods in Northamptonshire, so her group really pulled out all the sops with their Darling buds of May!
