Exercise Anywhere Conference 2012

The buzz from the Exercise Anywhere 12 event is still reverberating across the UK with over 200 Instructors and project leaders inspired to make the most of new partnerships & initiatives.

Delegates listened to spellbinding keynote speakers, Robin Gargrave, Bob Laventure and Dr John Searle OBE and made the most of workshops, practical demos and  educational sessions.

Ordnance survey created special maps to mark the Making Walking work conference.

Ordnance Survey were there demonstrating their fantastic GET A MAP service and offering a massive 25% discount to attendees who also made use of the specially made EXERCISE ANYWHERE maps when Tutor Nicky Parsons, took them on a ‘WALK ON THE WILD SIDE’. This fun session demonstrated just how many risks there could be on even an urban walk and the NWUK Tutor team were on hand with tips as to how to deal with every incident (including a snake bite!)

• The launch of the SAFETY 24 scheme which will now mean every holder of the New FREEDOM CARD (formerly the competence card) will be able to have a code that would provide the emergency services with details of their medical history and next of kin. This simple idea means no more data protection worries for Instructors as the dat is held on a secure server that can only be accessed by professional emergency services…..brilliant eh? read more
