Top Tip for NWUK Instructors:  HOW TO STAY SAFE WHEN IN LOW SIGNAL AREAS

If you regularly lead classes in an area with a very weak mobile phone signal, you may still be able to text the emergency services. To utilise this facility, you must first register your phone with the emergency services. Text REGISTER to 999; then follow the instructions in the reply text.

Remember to also re check the signal on your favourite routes, especially if you have changed your mobile phone  provider since you last risk assessed. One Instructor in a remote location told us she only conducts certain walks if her walk leader is present because between them they have coverage of the whole route!
