We promised a bigger and better event than ever for 2014 and we are delighted to announce that CONFERENCE 2014 will be just that!

2 days of workshops, presentations, networking, learning and inspiration!

A mix of indoor and outdoor workshops – keynote presentations from experts and your chance to meet & learn from other instructors. In a relaxed setting at a luxury spa hotel.

We are still finalising our keynote speakers but rest assured they will be inspirational and informative! Workshops will be lead by our Tutor Team ( we are delighted that they can all make this event so come and meet the brains behind our Academy) and external experts.

• Navigation for Nordic Walkers – how to cope when your sat nav loses signal!
• Advanced technique – we are always improving and want to make sure you do too!
• Motivation Zone – how to keep people interested as they get fitter
  — Roller ski-ing? The nearest thing to cross country ski-ing you can do – find out more & maybe give it a go?
  — Trail running – cross country running with poles!! Listen to the experts, technique tips & info about races/challenges,  find out about the new collapsible Trail running/Nordic walking poles from LEKI
• High days & Holidays – arranging trips for your groups  – examples from Instructors who do this – plus valuable advice about liabilities and how to ensure you are not literally straying out of your remit!!! Ideas and opportunities to join NWUK & other Instructors on some organised events/trips.
• Marketing, Social media and business workshops
• Research, rehabilitation and how to work with the medical fraternity. Know the difference between GP referral & GP recommendation & how you can be involved.
• Workplace health – how to offer a comprehensive workplace package to local companies
• Retail – know your stuff about poles and kit – learn how to advise & sell effortlessly and of course…………………………… test and BUY the latest kit!

Most workshops will be available both days (where possible) but some are space limited so we can not guarantee you get into them all if you can only make one day – but we will try. We do hope to ensure all those who attend both days get the chance to attend their preferred workshops.

BBQ on the TERRACE
Join the NWUK team for a sociable BBQ Supper on the Friday evening – entirely optional but we would love to see you all there.

STAYING OVER?

SUNDAY ADVENTURE WALK
Join us for a leisurely Adventure walk on Sunday morning at a local beauty spot before you leave.
