Nordic Walkers from local groups have certainly been out and about with their poles recently…
In July Instructor Lynne Martin took a large group on the ferry from Poole to Guernsey where they met up with Guernsey Instructor Jane Tullier and her regulars for a stunning walk and spot of lunch in the Sun. here they are warming up!
September was a busy month with the HQ team joining Instructors at the Dorset County Show to promote what’s happening in the area and encourage people to come and join in. It was great to meet so many regulars there too. That was swiftly followed by a mass exodus to SEVILLE to join in the walks and workshops which were intermingled with Tapas and sightseeing as part of the 1st World Festival of Nordic walking. The event included trips to Monasteries, Olive Groves and some presentations by leading Nordic walking experts and was well attended by enthusiasts from across the UK including this group of Ladies from Poole who completed the mass walk in Seville on the Sunday
More recently, 4 local Nordic walkers completed the Chichester half Marathon which is one of the first in the Country to recognise that Nordic Walking is a great way to exercise and not all about cream teas and gentle strolls – although we do manage to pack those in to our diaries too!
Well done to Lynne, Katie, Ian and Tim.
In 2016 we plan visits to festivals in Rome and the Alps and to join in the Grasmere Gallop in the Lake District. See you there?
