The Cambridge, Knowsley & Bristol Instructor Roadshows have been a HUGE success and we have loved meeting so many motivated Instructors who are keen to learn and play a bigger part in TEAM NWUK!

Martin’s technique evaluation has been especially popular and he managed to finish just before or after the heavens opened at all three events too – very impressive! The Instructors enjoyed exploring the origins of technique and how the NWUK method can be used to get real results with some of Gills tried and tested motivational tricks.

The equipment sessions have also been a real eye opener with a fun quiz revealing how some Instructors know every gizmo, gadget and composite whilst others obviously refer everybody to the NWUK team for advice! New opportunities to help Instructors to retail simply and effectively were also outlined and have since been really popular.

After a lush lunch (and the chance to try on the new Merrell shoes and browse through the clothing ranges!) it was time for the afternoon sessions with John Bruno and his Face Yoga. Titter ye not folks because what started as a fun look at some of the moves soon became a real eye opener (literally) Instructors soon realised that despite all of our efforts to get people working their whole bodies- there are a group of muscles we often over look. John has a really holistic approach to Wellbeing and by the end of the sessions both  groups could see that introducing exercises for the face muscles was not only beneficial but essential.

Interest in John’s Instructor training which is at a reduced price for NWUK Instructors was huge and we all went away feeling fresh faced and years younger!!

The afternoon sessions of the roadshows are  aimed at the most important people in the NWUK family…..our clients! We explored what they want and need and why they may not make initial contact with you or remain active Nordic walkers once you have taught them. The NWUK business team showed Instructors how to work smartly and use proven business skills  & tools to ensure results.

After a tea break, we began to explore how NWUK will be working with established, successful Instructors to mentor all new CYQ graduates and also to ensure walk leader training, assessments and other modules are delivered regionally in the future.

Opportunities for Instructors to play a much bigger part in the growth of Nordic Walking were also outlined and everybody went away excited about the new developments and how they could be involved.
