Wherever you are in the UK, you can be sure that there are plenty of walks to enjoy. From pub walks to history walks, city strolls to rural rambles, circular, coastal, long distance and even one mile circuits you can time yourself on! Our Instructors are trained to locate, risk assess and plan walks that are easy to access, near to vital amenities such as parking and toilets and suitable for those in their groups. There are lots of resources available to help them to find walks to include in their schedules and for any of who may be venturing to an area of the country we have not explored before. Here are our favourites:-
WALK 4 LIFE This site has a bank of over 91,000 walks of all distances. many of them urban and fairly short for those of us trying to fit in our daily 10,000 steps! Once you join, you can add your favourite walks too or find your local one mile route which you can use to measure your improvement every now and then! Click here to go to the site
NATIONAL TRAILS There are lots of National trails in the UK including iconic routes such as Hadrian’s wall and the South West Coastal path. Many can be enjoyed section by section or you might want to plan a trip where you challenge yourself to the whole route ( you will need to have plenty of time for the 630 mile Coastal path!) choose your trail and you will find all the information about the route and local places to stay so you can plan your visit. click here to go to the site
WALKINGBRITAIN.CO.UK Some serious outdoor routes in the most beautiful parts of the UK – Simple searches by National Park and grade of walk will bring up a list of routes with clear mileage and more info. WALK THE PEAK DISTRICT This little independent website oozes with passion for this amazing area of the UK. It’s creator describes his favourite routes in great detail and there is plenty of useful local information too. These walks are all dog friendly too as they were discovered whilst roaming with a four legged friend! Click here to go to the site
WHERE2WALK.CO.UK This website specializes in the Yorkshire Dales, Moors and the Lake District but its informative and easy to use with walks of all distances.
