We all love a walk on a crisp winters day and as we also have more time with Friends and Family at this time of year, be inspired to take a festive walk with your poles this yuletide. We listed our favourite ones here……………………………

GUIDED WALKS IN SHAKESPEARES BIRTHPLACEstratford on avon

This series of special Christmas walks start when the lights are switched on (27th November) and they even host a walk on CHRISTMAS DAY which starts at 10.30 but will have you back in time for lunch!  For more information click here

TREK and TRAIN

Stunning Dorset countryside

The railway at Corfe Castle

This is our all time favourite walk in our Dorset homeland at HQ – a brisk walk along the ridge from Corfe Castle to Swanage with views across the isle of Purbeck and Poole Harbour. For walk details click here. It’s actually possible to return via alternative coastal paths but can you resist the stunning steam railway which takes you straight back to start?  For a truly festive feel you can even book a festive luncheon, take the special Carol train or the Santa Special and meet the man himself on the way back!  For more info click here

TIPTOE THROUGH THE MISTLETOE!mistletoe

No plant depicts the Festive season quite like Mistletoe and if you live near any Apple Orchards you should be able to plan a walk where this mystical plant can be spotted. The best places to see it in it’s full glory are Somerset, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire where you may also be able to catch a talk or even festival too! For more information check out this website

WALK WITH REINDEERreindeer

For a truly magical experience pop on those sturdy shoes and be at the Cairngorm Reindeer centre by 10,45 on any day in December in order to walk up and meet the only herd in the UK. There are lots of other Reindeer themed things to see and do or you could just enjoy more winter wonderland walks in these stunning Mountains For more info click here

NWUK groups across the UK will also be planning Festive walks and sumptuous celebratory meals so stay in touch on Facebook to see what’s on near you.
